Are things back to normal yet?

So I took March off. Aaaannnd April. Seriously, every time I looked at my laptop with the thought of blogging, I felt like this (see picture to your left). A passing comment in email from my friend Keith made me ponder though, are things back to normal yet?

I think I got a little burnt out during the earthquake aftermath...

Joe Montegna and Weird Pop Culture References

So the other night E and I are in bed watching a Family Guy rerun, and one of the many pop culture references mentioned is about Parker Lewis Can't Lose. And E asks me, "What the hell is Parker Lewis Can't Lose?" so I tell him it's a show from the mid-90's starring Corin Nemec.

Why I know this shit is beyond me. I'm chock full of useless information. E, again, is dumbfounded, not by the fact that I am a wellspring of useless information, but by the fact that I can never remember who Joe Montegna is.

It's an ongoing argument, whereby he constantly tries to shove Joe Montegna in my face via IMDB, google images or by emailing me Youtube links. We've had this discussion many times now. And yet... I forget who the poor bastard is. Every. Bloody. Time.

Seriously, I don't know what's wrong with me. It's weird. I think he's been in some good movies and everything. I just have this strange black hole where memories/ knowledge of Joe Montegna live. And E's not some huge fan of obscure B actors or anything either. This guy's just been in alot of stuff and E finds it's fascinating that I don't know who he is, but do know about some shit show from the 90's that was on for a blink of time.

So needless to say, after explaining about Parker Lewis, I get a baleful look and a "This you know? This you know but you have no idea who Joe Montegna is...

WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?"

And so, for the edification of those who suffer from the same problem as myself:

For Wesley

So my friend Wes, well he has had an ongoing love affair with the Star Wars Saga since he was a kid. Enough so, that when we first started hanging out and he found out that I had never seen the Star Wars Saga he did this kind of scary head-rotating-on-shoulders-Exorcist-style thing and raced home to get his digitally remastered box set for me to watch. All at once. In my defence, I had seen the Ewoks adventure before. That counts for something, dammit!

When The Phantom Menace came out and the theatres decided to show it every hour on the hour opening day, the first showing he could get into was the 3am screening. You know we were there. And when I nodded off half way through because it was 3am and the movie had been on forever (seriously, it was over 2 hours) i got shaken and very disgustedly told to show some respect. LMAO.

So for my favourite geek, just for you ;)

FYI. I always liked the Man-Eating Teddy Bears the best :P

Sunday morning symphony

So it's early Sunday morning and I'm curled up in bed still, surfing online and putting off getting up as the house is quite chilly in the morning now that Fall has arrived. We're having a wood burning stove installed next week, but until then, I fight the good fight and stay under the covers until the day warms up.

It's early yet, 8 am or so, and I'm sandwiched between my hairy beasts. E, Georgia, Deja Vu and Voodoo. E is on the bed next to me, snoring. Georgia is in her dog bed on the floor next to our bed, with her head hanging over the side, snoring. Voodoo is on the dog bed in the corner, snoring like an old man. Seriously, it's like having your Grandpa in the room.

I look over at Deja, curled up on the settee in our room. She's nice and quiet and blinking at me with this sleepy expression on her face.  She lets out this long, drawn out sigh. Clearly, they woke her up too. I'm too lazy to get up, trip over Georgia to fumble for the camera, but you get the idea:

Click Me. I get bigger.
Eric asked me once how I managed to sleep with my iPod in. To which I answered, "Dude, how can I not?"

Do Something Nice

There is a terrible stray animal problem here in Chile. We try to do our part and take them in when we can, get them vaccinated and sterilized but the costs add up. Any help you send our way is much appreciated, Thank You! .
